Newquay Harbour 1
** SOLD ** Prints available here.
Newquay Harbour in all it’s crazy, colourful glory! As the tide creeps in by the central jetty, fishing boats bob up and down, tinkering in the turquoise water on a bright, sunny day. I love the different colours and shadows these shapes bring to the canvas.
Acrylic / mixed media on canvas with a protective varnish finish.
Size | 20 x 20 inches.
Bespoke tray frame in White Wood Grain | Framed by professional framers here in Newquay.
Ready to hang.
Delivery is usually within 10 working days.
Did you know…
The central jetty, depicted in the painting, used to link to the South Quay by a wooden trestle bridge that carried a railway line. Back then, the harbour was used for the export of china clay, iron ore and grain, plus the import of coal, manure, salt and limestone.
Today the harbour has a small fleet of commercial fishing vessels, landing mainly crabs and lobsters plus a fleet of tripping boats offering fishing and pleasure trips. The Harbour is also home to the Newquay RLNI Lifeboat Station.
